Attorneys to Get Update on Health Law
Albuquerque, N.M.—Health law involves the federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations affecting the health care industry. This area of law involves the relationships between the health care industry and patients and the delivery of health care services—all with an emphasis on operations, regulatory and transactional legal issues.
To stay abreast of current issues, the State Bar Health Law Section will host the “2011 Health Law Symposium: Health Care Fraud and Abuse Regulation” Oct. 7 at the State Bar Center.
Topics include federal enforcement of health care fraud regulations, fraud and abuse enforcement in New Mexico, obtaining medical records, ethics, and development of professional standards in medicine. Presenters include David Douglass, David Johnson, Howard Thomas, Julie Ford, Bryan Davis, Pippa Amick, Caroline Blankenship, Sophia Collaros, Thomas Dean, Rebecca Avitia, and Anne Simpson.
