Court Judges to Head Annual Bankruptcy Seminar

Albuquerque, N.M.—The 27th Annual Bankruptcy Year in Review will be held March 2 at the State Bar Center in Albuquerque. The State Bar’s Bankruptcy Law Section will co-sponsor this continuing legal education program for interested members of the legal community.

The seminar focuses on developments in case law on bankruptcy issues in 2011, both nationally and locally, with special emphasis on decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court, 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, 10th Circuit B.A.P. and U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Mexico. Presentations will be made by the Hon. James S. Starzanski; the Hon. Robert H. Jacobvitz; the Assistant U.S. Trustee for the District of New Mexico Ron E. Andazola; Clerk of Court Norman H. Meyer, Jr.; and Jeffrey H. Davidson of Sutman, Treister & Grant PC, Los Angeles, California.

Speakers also include local attorneys James Askew, Paul Fish, Alice Nystel Page, David Thuma, Thomas Walker, Gerald Velarde, and Diane Webb. James Jacobsen, and Manuel Lucero will discuss ethics from the perspective of government lawyers.

The Bankruptcy Law Section is an active group within the State Bar that works to create opportunities to educate both the public and the legal community about bankruptcy laws, trends, and national developments.
