The State Bar of New Mexico’s Legal Resources for the Elderly Program (LREP) is offering a free legal workshop on “Common Legal Issues for Senior Citizens” from 10 to 11:15 a.m., Nov. 16, at the Carrizozo Senior Center, 406 Central Ave. Free half-hour legal consultations for New Mexicans 55 or older are part of the program. All seniors, family members and others who work with seniors are invited to attend. Topics include powers of attorney, advance health-care directives, estate planning and Medicaid for long-term care. The workshop lasts approximately one hour and fifteen minutes and allows time for questions.

All senior citizens who live in the area are encouraged to attend, even if they have previously participated. This may be the only time LREP will visits this area of the state during the year.
