Judge Vanzi to Be Recognized for Advocacy for Women
Albuquerque, N.M.—The State Bar of New Mexico Committee on Women and the Legal Profession will present its 2010 Justice Pamela B. Minzner Outstanding Advocacy for Women Award to Judge Linda Vanzi of the New Mexico Court of Appeals at a holiday reception from 6 to 8 p.m., Dec. 2, at the Sheraton Uptown Hotel, 2600 Louisiana Blvd. NE, Albuquerque.
A graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Law, Court of Appeals Judge Vanzi has been a pioneering woman attorney. She has been a visible role model for young women in New Mexico and especially to women of color. Judge Vanzi speaks often to groups of young attorneys and helps others along the path. She earned her place on the Court of Appeals through uncommon wisdom and excellent judgment. Her still-developing judicial career is already distinguished, with numerous outstanding opinions and rulings, some of them in difficult and complex cases.
The State Bar of New Mexico was organized in 1886 and is composed of more than 8500 members. Its purposes are to aid the courts in administering justice and preserving the rule of law, and to foster a high standard of integrity and competence within the legal profession.
