Lawyer Talent Show to Benefit Legal Services for the Needy

Albuquerque, N.M.—Lawyers are getting ready to demonstrate that they have talents that extend beyond the courtroom. The “State Bar of New Mexico’s Got Talent” talent show will be held from 6–9:30 p.m., March 9, at the State Bar Center, 5121 Masthead NE, Albuquerque.

Auditions were held in January with judges choosing 20 lawyers to appear in the show. Among the usual lineup of singers and dancers, the show boasts a fire-eater, a bagpipe player, and a mariachi band. Attorneys will compete for the “Best Talent of the Bar” prize.

Admission is only $50 and includes food, drinks, a fun-filled evening, and fabulous talent.

The show is a fundraiser for the New Mexico State Bar Foundation, which works to support civil legal assistance for the needy, a mission reflected in their motto, “Giving Back Changes Lives.”

Any members of the press who wishes to attend should contact Kate Mulqueen at (505) 797-6064 for a press pass.

The State Bar of New Mexico was organized in 1886 and is composed of more than 8500 members. Its purposes are to aid the courts in administering justice and preserving the rule of law, and to foster a high standard of integrity and competence within the legal profession.
