Legislative Council Service Director to be Honored as Public Lawyer of the Year
Albuquerque, N.M.— Paula Tackett will receive the Public Lawyer of the Year Award at 4 p.m., April 30, in the Rotunda of the State Capitol in Santa Fe. Tackett is being honored for her long career in public service that began in 1982 when she joined the Legislative Council Service. She has come to be known as the institutional memory of the legislature and has spent countless hours mentoring attorneys as well as educating law students and the public to enhance open access and knowledge of the legislative process.
A reception will follow. Speakers include Chief Justice Charles Daniels, Chief Deputy Attorney General Al Lama and Dean Kevin Washburn.
