Position 2   01/01/15 - 12/31-16 term
Jessie Miles is an associate at Noble & Vrapi, P.A., based in the firm's El Paso office. Although his firm handles all immigration-related matters, most of his practice is focused on removal defense. He is particularly interested in expanding Due Process rights in immigration bond proceedings. Jessie also represents clients in criminal proceedings in New Mexico, and is a member of the New Mexico Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He graduated cum laude from the University of New Mexico School of Law, where he earned Clinical Honors and the Jerrold L. Walden Memorial Award for commitment to social justice. Jessie is interested in serving on the Board because he wants to be more active in state issues that affect immigrants in their daily lives, and work with other attorneys to ensure that immigrants receive effective representation and advice in all areas of law, especially in the criminal and family law contexts.
 Position 3   01/01/15 - 12/31-16 term

Christina Rosado has been practicing law exclusively in the field of immigration for more than 10 years and has represented clients across multiple nationalities. Her experience includes working as a private sector attorney, a Designated School Official responsible for immigration matters at the University of New Mexico, and as the former Director of the Immigration Department at Catholic Charities in Albuquerque. She is the principal attorney of her own law firm, Christina Rosado, Attorney at Law, LLC, where she represents individuals, families and businesses in New Mexico, across the country and overseas. She spends a significant amount of time advising about complex areas of immigration law involving employment based options, consular processing, waivers, removal defense and family-based immigration.

The State Bar of New Mexico Immigration Law Section is an organization of lawyers who sponsor continuing legal education, advance the quality of legal services provided by members of the State Bar of New Mexico, sensitize the public to the benefits of securing legal counsel at an early state in their affairs and educate them through seminars, publications, media and educational institutions in the field of Immigration Law.  The section is working to establish links with the American Immigration Lawyers' Association, the Section on International Law and Practice of the American Bar Association, and Immigration Law Sections of neighboring state bar associations.

Membership in the Immigration Law Section is open to any lawyer licensed in New Mexico who is interested in these issues. You may join the Immigration Law Section if you are a member in good standing of the State Bar of New Mexico.

You may enroll at any time during the year; however, your membership will expire in December of the same year.
