Your Proposed 2015 Board of Directors
Natural Resources, Energy & Environmental Law Section
Hello, Members:
The Natural Resources, Energy & Environmental Law Section Nominating Committee has issued its report, below, proposing a slate of officers for 2015. If you want to contest the election, please get the signatures of at least 10 members of the section on the petition, email it to D.D. Wolohan by Oct. 31, and state which position you are contesting. A runoff will follow. If there is no opposition after Oct. 31, the slate is approved by acclamation and will serve in 2015.

 Position 1   01/01/15 - 12/31/17
Louis W. Rose is a shareholder with the firm of Montgomery & Andrews P.A. in Santa Fe and a member of that firm's environmental and natural resources practice group. He was an attorney with the Environment Department and its predecessor agencies from 1976 to 1992, and has been with Montgomery & Andrews since 1992. His practice is focused on environmental law, including air, ground water and hazardous waste permitting and enforcement issues. Mr. Rose is a member of the American Bar Association's Section of Natural Resources, Energy and Environmental Law and the Section of Administrative and Regulatory Practice.

Position 2   01/01/15 - 12/31/17
Deana Bennett is a member of the Natural Resources and Environment Practice Group of the Modrall Sperling Law Firm. Her practice is focused on natural resource and energy development on public and tribal lands. Deana's experience includes permitting and environmental compliance efforts under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Endangered Species Act (ESA), and other related federal statutes. She has worked on a number of utility matters, and her experience also includes working with renewable resource developers with siting issues on public, tribal, state, and local land.

Position 3 01/01/15 - 12/31/15
Sean FitzPatrick is an Assistant District Attorney with the 11th Judicial District Attorney's Office in Farmington. He is a fossil collecting, door-to-door canvassing, Natural Resources Certificate Law Program graduate. He continues to attend the ABA section of the environment webcasts and call-ins even though it doesn't directly apply to his practice of law. Sean takes leadership positions with confidence in his abilities and confidence that comes from trying cases. He would add depth to the NREEL Board both geographically and based on his area of practice.
