As the primary association for attorneys and legal professionals in the State of New Mexico, it is our responsibility to deliver services that not only benefit every type of member (law student, associate, partner), but also benefit the various sized firms that our members work for (sole practitioners, small, medium and large firms). When it comes to career advancement and recruitment, our Placement Center levels the playing field for both candidates and employers.

Legal Professionals
If you're looking for your first job, making a lateral move, or pursuing partner or in-house opportunities, our Placement Counselors can assist you. We understand that education, experience and career advancement are all tied closely together. We also understand that when a member or legal professional chooses to make a career move, there are several important factors that are essential:

The State Bar of New Mexico's Placement Center is designed specifically to help the job seeker accomplish all the above. When you register with us, we start by connecting you with one of our career advocates (Placement Counselors). Whether you are making a lateral move across the city, across the state or across the nation, our placement counselors are there to help you create and follow your desired career strategy; to confidentially market your skills and abilities to the employers that match your career plan; and to help find you make the right move. There is never a charge to the candidate for our placement assistance (all fees are paid by the employer) and our counselors are there to offer advice and consultation on your career and professional interests.

Employers
Whether you are a small, medium or large firm, creating the right team is crucial to your ongoing success and profitability. Our Placement Center has programs designed for firms of all sizes for finding strong candidates quickly, professionally and confidentially, while keeping your recruiting costs and time to a minimum. We have the following recruiting programs available:

• 1st Year Associates Program (one year or less experience)
  • We have some outstanding law school graduates and junior level attorneys from top schools across the nation looking to join the right firm here in New Mexico
  • Our low flat fee structure (only if you hire them) will save you time and money
• Experienced Attorneys Program
  • Connecting you with the leading associates, partners, and in-house counsel that have asked us to assist them in making a confidential lateral move
• Legal Support Staff Program (paralegals, legal secretaries, staff)
  • We also are assisting some of New Mexico's top paralegals, legal secretaries and legal staff to find the perfect opportunity
